A little can do a lot!
Chronic disease and chronic pain are on the rise, and most of the contributing factors tend to be preventable, lifestyle behaviors.
The current medical model, though very valuable in many areas, tends to focus upon symptom management, failing to allot time to potential "upstream" causes in the diet, exercise and lifestyle. Meanwhile, more conservative methods of disease prevention and management - diet, exercise, coaching, pain education and manual therapy effectively address some of these upstream causes, continue to produce great results, and all with lowered cost to the individual.
I focus on coaching the person who has the disease, not the disease that has the person!*
I try to take a full body, multiple organ-system approach to assist you in every area that could be contributing your concerns - this not only casts a wider net, but empowers you with a number of possible solutions besides just medication or surgery.
Pain, similarly, is often an outcome of a lack of movement variability or another input into the system and the site of pain is often not the source of pain. Pain also has psychosocial elements, so education can play a huge role.
Along with symptom management and helping you find the true cause(s) of your unpleasant symptoms, having a personal coach to guide you helps make the lifestyle changes that we all have a tough time making alone. However, the intent for most clients is to be self-sufficient (unlike many practitioners who want you coming back monthly for life).
MY GOAL IS FOR YOU TO NEED LESS ASSISTANCE AS TIME GOES ON, NOT MORE!
Helping you set goals based on your needs and desires, and then to hit them. (Three month commitment Includes Free Coaching App)
Initial assessment (body composition, lab test evaluation, food log, nutritional physical exam), goal setting, and mutual plan creation for the first week(s).
Check in on results so far, re-assessment, coaching, and goal setting for the future.
Visitation, often to include home food recommendations, cooking tips, and/or assessment of food options and assistance in creating a grocery list.
Useful for check-ins on progress, questions, and short assessments and feedback on lab results, symptoms, etc.
All Include Home Self-Management Tips and Exercises to Improve Movement
Required for all new clients with pain conditions. Following a quick screen, we will do an assessment of full body movement along with a standard orthopedic assessment, This is followed by time spent relaxing muscles and improving movement around areas of pain and restricted movement. Re-test and check of results included
Short, focused treatment on 1-2 problem areas and/or check-up on previous orthopedic/pain concerns.
Full body focus with more time spent toward relaxation as well as target areas of the body.
I'll bring the table and everything needed. 24 hours notice required.
* BETTER IN THREE, OR THIRD ONE IS ON ME! If we fail to attain a goal that we set within three sessions, the third session price will be refunded to you. Of course, I will refer you to a person in my network of providers who is better suited to your needs, if i have not already!
Targeted toward improving movement, restoring mobility, stability, strength, or simple weight loss. Medical exercise requires clearance or approval from health care practitioner (doctor, NP, PT)
Required of all new clients. Full body movement assessment (mobility, strength, balance, symmetry) and exercise program design.
A shorter and more intense training session - great for those who are moving well already and/or for whom weight loss is the primary goal.
More time for specific warm-up, movement preparation, and a longer workout time for those with medical concerns. Also, good for muscle-growth and strength workouts.
